These terms and conditions details the agreement of temporary property rental between the “Client / Renter” and the “Property Owner”

All bookings are subject to approval from the owner who has the right to deny any bookings without explanation.

Booking / Rental 

  • Please e-mail as soon as possible in order to confirm availability of your chosen property. Provisional bookings can be held for seven days in order for the deposit (or full payment if due) to clear and completed, signed booking form to be returned. Upon receipt of the completed booking form, FrenchSelfCatering will send confirmation of booking and any further information. 
  • The rental period is from 16.00 on the day of arrival until 10.00 on the day of departure. 
  • Rental of “the property” includes… electricity & gas, bed linen, indoor towels and all facilities except fenced off or closed areas.
  • Bed linen and personal indoor towels are provided. Provided towels are not to be used outdoors.
  • The persons residing in the rental properties must not alter from that stated on the booking form. 
  • The client and party acquire no rights whatsoever over the property accepting occupation as a holiday let for the period booked. The client shall not sub-let the property. 
  • The client should report any breakages and / or defects in the property or its contents to the owner or his representative / agent without delay. Any problems listed are dealt to best ability from the owner. No claim of refunds is possible in case of a fault, though best efforts will be done by the owner.
  • The bringing of pets on to the property is forbidden except with written permission of the owner. 
  • The property is dimensioned for eight adults sharing four bedrooms. There is further one sleeping arrangement and one child cot on the premises. Sofas in the living room may not be used to sleep in.


  • All payments should be made in Euro. 
  • Euro bank transfers is the only accepted form of payment.
  • Deposit amount is 25% of total holiday rental cost is due 7 days from the date the booking is made. 
  • Final Payment amount is 75% of total holiday rental and is due no less than two calendar months prior to arrival.
  • If booking is made within two calendar months of the arrival, a full payment is required at the time of the booking

Security Deposit

  • The security deposit is as detailed on the booking form and payable in cash. Cheques are not accepted.
  • Any breakages, damage or loss caused to the property or its contents during the rental period may result in the forfeit of some or all of the security deposit. 
  • Final cleaning is not included within the rental price. The owner reserve the right to retain money from the security deposit, to cover additional cleaning costs should the property be left in an unacceptable condition. For more information what’s required, please see “Cleaning” below.

Cancellation & Refund Policy 

  • Only written cancellation may be accepted
  • Cancellation more than 8 weeks prior to arrival: 50% of the deposit is withheld.
  • Cancellation 8 – 4 weeks prior to arrival: 50% of total cost that has been paid by the client is refunded
  • Cancellation less than 4 weeks prior to arrival 0% is refunded
  • Failure to complete the deposit payment 7 days after booking may result in a cancellation from the owner.
  • Failure to complete the final payment 8 weeks prior to arrival may result in a cancellation from the owner and forfeit of deposit 


  • It is strongly recommend that the client takes out holiday insurance to cover unavoidable cancellation, incident, injury or illness. 
  • It is advised that the client take additional breakdown and motor insurance if on a self-drive holiday.

Provisions Service 

  • Every effort is made to ensure that the provisions provided for clients are in the best and freshest of condition. However the owner accept no liability whatsoever for products so purchased or any side effects deemed to have been caused by consumption of these products.

Cot & High Chair

  • Every effort is made to ensure that these products remain in the best of condition. The owner accepts no liability or responsibility for any accident deemed to be caused by these products. Linen for the cot are not provided.

Limit of Liability

The property owner shall not be held responsible for; 

  • Any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, or in respect of any equipment, machinery, or appliances in the property or garden.
  • Any loss, damage or injury, which is a result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes, or other matters beyond the owner’s control.
  • Any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the client if the property is destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of, or during the rental period.

If the client fails to notify the owner of any problems or dissatisfactions prior to departure from the property, the owner will deem that the client is satisfied and therefore has no case for redress.

Health & Safety

  • A strict NO SMOKING policy is operated in all properties. 
  • The owner accept no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any accident in its properties or their grounds
  • The client is expected to act in a manner that would not cause unacceptable disturbance to residents in neighbouring properties. Unacceptable disturbance might result immediate termination of rental period and evacuation of the premises, with no refund of any payment what so ever.

Arrival & Departure

  • Guests are welcomed at the property at 16:00 on the day of arrival and seen off at 10:00 at the day of departure.
  • Should the arrival be delayed efforts will be made to delay the greeting, but in some cases alternative solutions will be found to hand over the keys. 
  • The security deposit is due at the time of arrival.
  • On departure, ensure to meet the cleaning guidelines below.


  • The clients are responsible for ensuring that all inventories are back in the place they were found at the start of the rent. 
  • Furthermore, all dishes should be clean, dry and put in their place. 
  • The fridge should be empty and clean.
  • Garbage should be brought out to the bins at the front of the property and empty glass bottles brought to the recycling station
  • The BBQ, oven and microwave oven should be left in a clean state. 
  • Floors should be hoovered and the vacuum cleaner should be emptied. 
  • Please place linen and towels on the bedroom floors.

The clients do not have to clean windows, wet sweep the floors nor do dusting.
